MACEDONIAN TRADITIONAL COSTUMES
FROM THE COLLECTION OF JONE EVTIMOVSKI
Jone Evtimovski was born 13th of March 1956 in Prespa village Podmochani, where he is living now. He has finished vocational school and he works as an agricultural production especially as fruit grower. As a child and the young man he was especially interested in history of village and widely of folk costumes, songs and characteristics of Macedonian folklore. He took part of dancing group “Tashe Miloshevski” from Resen and he founded a folk dance group which was active and took part in many manifestations in the community in former period.
He started to collect Macedonian woman’s attire, old household details and other valuables parts from Macedonian history, past and heritage, so his museum collection has over 2,000 various exhibits. Those exhibits are situated and shown to display prominently in a new building which has been more and more visited by important visitors from the country and abroad, as well as from political, cultural, church, and other spheres of life. In the past 30 years of museum activity, especially in the last 10 years, Jone Evtimovski always took part in exhibitions, shows, and other manifestation of Macedonian woman’s attire, wining several first awards and other valuable awards and acknowledgements. He announced that he will participate in the following period and reach the found of above mentioned ant other exhibits and he will especially engaged in more successful presentation of culture and historical treasure he owns .
